Alepo Introduces a 3GPP Home Subscriber Server

Alepo introduces a 3GPP HSS Server to provide authentication, authorization, session and centralized identification management for 4G networks.

February 18, 2010, Austin, TX — Alepo today announced its introduction of a 3GPP Home Subscriber Server (HSS), providing OSS services to providers migrating to 4G. Based on Alepo’s record high-performing AAA Server, the HSS Server provides authentication, authorization, session and centralized identification management across all next generation services.

A 3GPP HSS is a central network element for any IMS or LTE deployment and aids in the deployment of Evolved Packet Systems (EPS). The HSS Server acts as a policy decision point, containing subscriber identity information, including plan information such as quality of service and other access parameters. The HSS helps streamline NGN networks by centralizing account information for all NGN services offered.

“Alepo is committed to helping providers migrate into 4G services with a 3GPP HSS Server that is leading the market, stated Jonathan Garini, Vice President of Products at Alepo. “Alepo recognizes that an efficient, reliable, and secure HSS Server is a core element in any 4G architecture, and has built our product with these qualities in mind,” he concluded.

Alepo’s 3GPP HSS is based on its popular AAA Server, which has been in deployment for over ten years and used by carrier-grade providers worldwide for a variety of next generation services. Praised for its high performance, it has been a core Alepo offering since the company began. As AAA functions migrate to new network elements as the industry evolves, Alepo continues to design new products with the same commitment to efficiency and reliability found in its core offerings.

Alepo Introduces 3GPP Policy Charging and Rules Function

Alepo introduces a 3GPP-compliant PCRF to support dynamic policy management and network optimization for LTE and IMS networks.

February 18, 2010, Austin, TX — Alepo today announced the introduction of its 3GPP Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF). The PCRF supports dynamic policy management and network optimization for LTE and IMS networks. As the role of LTE and IMS grows, a 3GPP-compliant PCRF will become central to 4G networks.

The amount of bandwidth used per person is increasing much more quickly than the expansion of broadband itself, stretching current networks to capacity. It is therefore increasingly important that providers find ways to maximize network efficiency. A PCRF is able to automatically do this by lowering the bandwidth of users who are slowing down the network during peak times due to overuse. Additionally, offering quality of service (QoS) based plans allows for more efficient network management while simultaneously increasing revenue per customer and customer satisfaction.

“Alepo’s 3GPP PCRF is a central network element for LTE and IMS networks,” stated John Kim, Director of Telecommunications at Alepo. “Dynamic and on-demand policy change will not only help network integrity, but will increase customer service by offering a wider breadth of services and a highly responsive network at all times,” he concluded.

Alepo’s 3GPP PCRF supports the creation of QoS-based services by offering bandwidth-based plans and network efficiency is achieved via automatic downgrading of overactive users and tearing down sessions when maxiumum bandwidth is reached. Additionally, the Alepo 3GPP PCRF supports alerts, which can inform customers when they are reaching their bandwidth cap or a certain balance, avoiding bill shock and increasing customer satisfaction.

Alepo Introduces Number Monetization System

Alepo introduces a comprehensive number monetization system that allows providers to monetize customers’ desire for personalized and special phone numbers by managing the entire lifecycle of selling special phone numbers from market research, to auctioning and selling numbers, reporting and more.

February 18, 2010, Austin, TX — Alepo today announced the introduction of a comprehensive number monetization system for managing the entire lifecycle of monetizing custom and vanity phone numbers. An ETR system allows providers to capitalize on market opportunities by charging for phone numbers according to their demand.

Alepo’s ETR System manages number selling at all steps: from market research, to number organization, to a portal where customers can search, purchase and bid on numbers. Its automatic organization of numbers separates them into tiers (according to their value) and categories (according to the category of word spelled by the vanity number), allowing the provider to maximize revenue and price precisely according to demand.

“Customers are demanding increasing levels of customization for their telecommunications experience, and technology is advancing to be able to offer completely individual experiences for all its users,” stated Jonathan Garini, Vice President of Products at Alepo. “Alepo’s ETR System responds to this market desire by introducing a solution that makes it convenient and easy to purchase, manage, and monetize custom phone numbers,” he concluded.

Alepo’s ETR system comes pre-integrated with Alepo’s Service Enabler, a comprehensive billing and customer care platform that automates rating, charging, invoicing, customer service, affiliate management, and more.

February 16, 2010, Austin, TX — Alepo today announced the introduction of its Fixed Mobile Solution for extending the functionality of existing mobile infrastructures to fixed voice and data. Fixed Mobile Convergence allows a single infrastructure to support fixed and mobile voice and data with one bill, one interface, and one customer identity. As the telecommunications market convergences more and more toward single-device, single-network service delivery, it is imperative that providers have a back office solution poised to meet the needs of this changing market.

Alepo can provide a complete BSS / OSS Solution or integrate with third-party network elements to utilize legacy interfaces for new services. Alepo has already deployed this technology with customers across the globe, including Digicel, Telkom Kenya, and MTN Cameroon.

“Alepo is committed to helping providers anticipate new market trends by offering a Fixed Mobile Convergent infrastructure that supports emerging technologies, “ stated John Kim, Director of Telecommunications at Alepo. “Alepo’s solution aids providers in offering a single interface, bill, and account across all services offered, increasing customer service and market share,” he concluded.
