Alepo and Altai, two leading Wi-Fi technology providers, recently cemented their ongoing partnership with the release of a joint solution for ready-to-launch carrier Wi-Fi networks.
Thursday, October 15, 2015, Dubai, UAE; Austin, TX; Hong Kong – Ahead of GITEX 2015, Alepo (www.alepo.com) and Altai (www.altaitechnologies.com), announced today the release of a joint solution for carrier Wi-Fi networks, responding to the growing demand in the telecommunications industry for ready-to-launch Wi-Fi network infrastructure that can lower deployment time and costs without the sacrifice of carrier-class high performance, security, and scalability.
The joint solution pairs Altai’s Super Wi-Fi base stations and access points with Alepo’s complete Wi-Fi monetization and Wi-Fi offload software platforms. When deployed together, the Alepo and Altai products afford significant cost-saving benefits, including a ready and rapid deployment, proven interoperability, and ease of daily operations. In addition, the solution enables carriers to bring more competitive Wi-Fi offers to market quickly in order generate revenue from the investment.
“We know that ROI can be a decisive factor for operators evaluating Wi-Fi, even for those who plan to use the network primarily for mobile offload or to expand their coverage area,” said Derrick Gross, Director of Business Development at Alepo. “An Alepo-Altai solution justifies the investment by not only providing significant cost-savings in deployment and OPEX, but also by exposing Wi-Fi as a strategic revenue stream for a wide population of customers and partners.”
Gross noted that the solution readily enables diverse Wi-Fi business models, including subscriptions and casual use, advertising and location-based offers, reseller and affiliate models, international roaming, and many other emerging Wi-Fi business models today.
Ben Chan, VP of Sales & Marketing at Altai, commented on the recent and current project success that Altai and Alepo have achieved. Chan said, “Altai has been working with Alepo on various high performance wireless broadband networks, and we are pleased to be able to deliver high quality solution and services to operators/ISPs together. With the proven track record of integrating Alepo’s software platform with Altai’s Super WiFi, we can speed up to provide a completely customized solution to fit the stringent requirements of our customers.”
The announcement of this solution follows multiple joint Wi-Fi projects in 2015, including the launch of Wi-Fi services for UhuruOne in Tanzania and a large ISP in South Asia (unnamed). Alepo and Altai also provided the complete Wi-Fi experience for participants at Andicom 2015 in Cartagena, Colombia earlier this year.

On the heels of the Philippines government announcement to offer free citywide Wi-Fi services to half of its towns and cities this year and nationwide coverage by end of 2016, Alepo penned an agreement with FilAsia System Technologies Inc. (FAST) to provide a complete Wi-Fi management solution, including charging and billing, for the IPTV Service.
Tuesday, October 6, 2015, Austin, TX – Alepo (www.alepo.com) – a global provider of core network and IT software solutions for communications service providers, announced today a new partnership with FAST, a leading wireless internet service provider in Philippines, to provide a complete Wi-Fi hotspot manager, including charging and billing, for internet and IPTV over Wi-Fi services.
As part of the new partnership, Alepo will employ its carrier-class convergent charging, billing, and CRM platform, Alepo Service Enabler (SE), which will enable FAST to fully deliver and monetize its Wi-Fi and IPTV services. To create a sophisticated and enjoyable customer experience for FAST subscribers, Alepo SE includes end-to-end support for the entire purchase, activation, real-time charging, notifications, and customer care of Wi-Fi hotspot services.
“The high competition amongst ISPs in Philippines puts downward pressure on average revenue per user (ARPU) and limits revenue potential from traditional revenue streams. This drives ISPs to introduce services like IPTV over Wi-Fi to differentiate themselves from the competition,” said Glenn Caagbay, President at FAST. “Alepo has a long and proven legacy in Wi-Fi and IPTV monetization and is able to provide FAST with solutions that are both technologically advanced and highly sophisticated from a business standpoint.”
“FAST recognizes IPTV as part of a new breed of services that will continue to fit into their overall data monetization strategy,” said Vani Manian, Technical Director at Alepo. “In its selection of Alepo, FAST is assured of a solutions partner with the knowledge and real-world proven products needed to launch new IPTV business models rapidly and cost-effectively without disruption to existing networks and services.”
