October 11, 2011, Austin, TX – Alepo, a leading provider of convergent charging solutions for telecommunications service providers, has named Randy Cook as the new Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Business Development. With over 20 years of industry experience, Cook will lead the company’s rapidly growing global sales organization.
Cook joins Alepo after his tenure at Nokia Siemens Networks, where he served as the Head of Carrier Ethernet Sales for Nokia Siemens Networks. Prior to NSN, he was the Vice President of Sales & Business Development at Atrica, a Silicon Valley-based telecommunication infrastructure leader, and led the private start-up throughout its merger with Nokia Siemens Networks.
Within Alepo, Cook is already deep in discussions with leading service providers to help them realize 4G market opportunities and secure the position of global market leaders.
“In such an explosive era in telecommunications, service providers today must seek to differentiate services in order to drive the profitability of 4G services,” said Cook. “Alepo’s constant innovation, grounded in 15 years of proven industry experience, pushes the boundaries of what service providers can achieve.”
Cook joins Alepo at a time of tremendous growth for the telecommunications solutions provider. This year, Alepo has expanded operations in North America, and launched new regional offices in South America and Asia. The company’s growth marks a rising demand for Alepo’s 4G evolved packet core products, including the Alepo Online Charging System and PCRF, innovative solutions for carrier Wi-Fi, mobile data offload and more.
Cook will speak at the upcoming WiMAX Forum Operator Summit in Cape Town, South Africa on November 8, 2011. He will also be available in Cape Town for face-to-face meetings and media interviews during AfricaCom on November 9th and 10th, 2011.
