Banglalion Selects Alepo’s LTE Charging and Billing Solution to Advance Growth in Bangladesh
With Alepo’s LTE Convergent Charging & Billing solution, Banglalion will be able to launch innovative LTE services and promotions for residential and commercial customers in Bangladesh.
Tuesday, July 28, 2015, Austin, TX – Alepo (www.alepo.com) – a global provider of core network and IT software solutions for communications service providers, announced today that its longstanding client, Banglalion Communications Limited (BCL) has selected Alepo’s LTE Convergent Charging and Billing platform as part of its anticipated launch of new LTE services in Bangladesh.
With Alepo’s Convergent Charging and Billing platform, BCL will be able to readily offer advanced and competitive LTE data offers and position itself as a leading, customer-oriented service provider in the LTE space. Alepo’s solution enables such advanced features as data rollover, family and shared data plans, emergency top-ups, loyalty rewards, and more. What’s more, BCL will be able to combine its WiMAX and LTE services onto a single, convergent platform for greater cost savings and flexibility between the two technologies.
“Our commitment is to bring the most advanced and innovative mobile broadband services to Bangladesh,” said Ekhlas Uddin Ahmed, CTO at BCL. “Our continued partnership with Alepo ensures that we are able to lead the mobile broadband market in a way that is also cost-effective and assuring of our investment.”
BCL originally deployed Alepo’s charging and billing solutions for its WiMAX network in 2009 and has worked with the technology partner as its network and business needs have expanded and evolved.
As part of the LTE deployment, BCL will extend its Alepo Service Enabler 9 solution. SE9 is Alepo’s signature BSS / OSS framework. With all-in-one features that include real-time charging, CRM, web self-care, and automatic customer alerts, BCL can ensure a sophisticated customer experience from start to finish.
Bangladesh’s internet and broadband sectors remain largely underdeveloped. According to figures from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), Bangladesh ended March 2015 with 44.62 million active internet subscribers. With a population of about 156 million there is a high potential for LTE growth in Bangladesh. For BCL, early entry into the LTE market will translate into strong market share as LTE becomes mainstream in Bangladesh.
“BCL has long been on the forefront of mobile broadband technology and service innovation,” said Dan Stern, Vice President of Sales at Alepo. “As the 4G LTE market in Bangladesh emerges rapidly, we are proud to be a partner of BCL and to ensure the company’s continued competitive advantage and market success.”
